Answers to common questions about therapy, fees, and bilingual care — plus a look at our community.

Getting Started

General Counseling Questions

What should I expect in my first session?

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk through what brought you in, your goals, and answer any questions you have about how we work — no pressure to share more than you’re ready to.

How long does therapy typically take?

It depends entirely on your goals. Some clients come for a handful of focused sessions; others prefer ongoing, longer-term support. We’ll check in regularly about what’s working.

Do you offer telehealth or virtual sessions?

Yes — we offer both in-person and secure virtual sessions, in English or Español, depending on what’s most comfortable and accessible for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Details are provided during intake.

Fees & Insurance

Fees, Insurance & Payment

Do you accept insurance?

We can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement — reach out and we’ll walk you through what your specific plan may cover.

Do you offer a sliding scale or affordable options?

Yes. We believe financial limitations shouldn’t stand in the way of care, and offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots — ask us about current availability.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and cash or check for in-person sessions.

Is there a separate fee for immigration evaluations?

Yes — evaluations are billed separately from ongoing counseling, given the additional clinical interview time and report-writing involved. Contact us for current rates.

Bilingual & Family Care

Bilingual & Family Care Questions

Can my family's sessions mix English and Spanish?

Absolutely — many of our family sessions naturally move between both languages, especially across generations. You never have to pick just one.

Do you work with children and adolescents?

Yes, we work with children, adolescents, and adults, adjusting our approach to fit each client’s developmental stage.

What if only one partner speaks English?

That’s very common, and exactly what bilingual care is for — each partner can express themselves fully in the language most natural to them, in the same session.
